What's New

Recently published are our adventures during the lastest winter, 2014-2015 The Fourth Winter. Published a few months ago: the 2013-14 The Third Winter , 2014 Travel Season and, for what there is, our 2014 DDD Adventures. Our picture gallery for 2014 is up to date.
I am in Boston. You will need to read the tales of the Unexpected from this winter to understand why.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Navigating our Blog

To keep up with our current travels, click here. except of course during the winter, when we aren't travelling.
In order to navigate through our blog, there are two navigation bars:

  • A navigation bar along the top that displays your current position in the log, in this case, you will see 'Home'. By hovering over any name, the list of sub pages will be displayed and can be clicked on.
  • A drop down menu column on the left hand side. By hovering over any entry in the list, a menu displays of the pages or directories (indicated by the red pointer) accessible.

Most pages have a 'back' and 'next' button at the bottom of the page that allows you to move forward or backward through the log.

Travels are organized by travelling season, that is to say spring, summer and fall. Winters are grouped into one directory.

Welcome to the tale of our RV Odyssey.

The is the story of Stuart, Lynn (that’s us above), Robbie and Abby (see below) JeIMG_0220ffries and our treks across America as full time RVers.

The first question everybody asks is ‘Why?’

When talking to RVers, the blank stare we always get is when someone asks ‘What RV did you own before you decided to Full Time?’ and we answer ‘Nothing, this is our first RV!’.

  • Somehow, our retirement life of moving from place to place seemed to be a natural So why did we become Full Time RVers?

    As we sat back and discussed ideas about what to do in retirement, a couple of thoughts kept on reoccurring;
We had really enjoyed our trip in the Class C, but a 3 week vacation is not the same as living full time.
We also greatly enjoyed the Ken Burns special on the National Parks and really wanted to be able to visit as many as we could.
Lynn wanted to visit the American SouthWest.

Although I had my woodworking workshop in the basement, I did not want to spend my retirement taking care of the house, which always seemed to need some sort of repair and redecorating.

Lots of reading, research, arguments and a subscription to Trailer Life magazine later, we decided to go for it. In the year and a half of reading and research, we also started compiling a list of places that would be worth seeing from a number of sources, including:

-The TV show Diners Drive-Inns and Dives, a.k.a. DDD or Triple D
-Trailer Life Magazine.
