The main purpose of our staying at the Toronto West KOA was its proximity to the Kids and our beautiful, talented granddaughter (no, I am not in the least bit biased). The campground is located on the Niagara Escarpment, whose main feature is Niagara Falls, but the escarpment runs through Southwestern Ontario providing some amazing countryside.
We were parked in the lower section of the campground that is surrounded by trees, so we only were able to get a couple of channels on the over the air antenna (no cable), but in some respects fortuitous that we were in Canada for the Olympics. The CTV network broadcast coverage about 20 hours a day, from when we got up till we went to bed, so we were able to watch many events live and in their entirety, including the opening ceremonies. I read a number of web articles critical of the NBC coverage.
Campbellville is a very small village that sports some nice places to eat and a small market/deli/bakery/liquor/beer store, all the basics of life, just a few minutes from the campground. For more serious shopping, the city of MIlton is 5 miles down the road and has all the big box stores and supermarkets.
We also had the opportunity to meet up with old friends that we had not seen in the 15 years since we moved away from the area.
