Our stay at the CARE center was both eventful and not. There are usually 4 to 5 teams of volunteers for the month, but this year, due to sudden health issues, we were down to 3 teams, so shifts were doubled up to cover all the tasks. We ended up working 2 full days and off one day. Rather than the normal 20-24 hours a week, we were putting in 40-50 hours. We were so exhausted by the time our day off came around, that you barely had enough time to recover before starting it all over again.
On the other hand, Robbie did his ‘look at me, I’m a therapy dog’ act with the Day Care attendees and Halloween was a dress up affair this year. You will need to check out our gallery for some of the costumes.
One afternoon while taking out the garbage, I noticed a new visitor flitting about and managed to capture a descent profile picture. A bit of research came up with a Giant Swallowtail Butterfly (Papilio cresphontes)
